Construction on the New York Avenue Metrorail Station is well underway and is on schedule to meet its November 2004 opening. ANC 5C02 Commissioner Joyce Robinson-Paul took a recent tour of the New York Ave-Florida Ave-Gallaudet U Station with Project Manager John Thomas. Although the station is located in ANC 6C, ANC 5C borders it to the north and west. With funding of $103.7 million, the station will be the 84th in the Metrorail system and the first to be built between two existing stations.
